The morning after pill usually has to be taken within 12 to 24 hrs AFTER having sex. 48 hrs is entirely too late and he is right- it may not work! They have had this pill out for a long long time just not for the public like it is now! They use to and still do give them to rape victims at the hospitals because its designed to kill any active sperm before it can fertilize your egg! I would totally hold your breath and pray it worked and then go and get the shot that lasts you 5 years or try the patch or pill! Good luck to u!

I won't say what I think about a 15 year old girl having sex, let alone that many times, but needless to say, you would not like it.
As for the morning after pill, it's called that because for it to be most effective, you must take it within 24 to 48 hours of having sex, not days later. If you are going to be sexually active, get on birth control pills.

the pill is still effective if taken within 72 hours of having sexual intercourse. I've taken it- its not killing a baby its making you ovulate so that you DONT have a baby. there is no baby yet. take the first pill right away and then take the second pill 12 hours later (i believe thats right- check the instrucitons) i've gotta tell you though, that after you take the second pill, you puke a lot and you just wanna pass out. but its gone by the next day. and you get your period early. first off, you are too young to be having sex, and under NO circumstances should you have unprotected sex. you might also want to get yourself tested just as a precaution.

WOW! 15 and having unprotected sex. Not a good idea. You will most likely get an std, if you haven't already. And about the whole getting pregnant part, what, are you trying to get pregnant because having unprotected sex that many times is asking for a baby.and here's a quote from one of your answer to someone...
"well i think abortions are wrong!" so the morning after pill is an abortion you hypocrite.

The morning after pill should be taken THE MORNING AFTER. The instructions are right there in the name. It still can work after 48 hours, but the chances of it not working go up a lot.
Why on earth are you having unprotected sex?! How stupid do people have to be to do that willingly?! I seriously hope you don't pretend to feel bad for anyone with AIDS, you obviously could care less since you are gambling with it yourself.
Good luck to you and your family.

The morning after pill is like taking four times the amount of the birth control pill. It prevents pregancy. It is NOT like having an abortion because it will NOT kill a fetus. If you are already pregnant and take it, nothing will happen to the fetus. It will prevent an egg from being released; or prevent an egg from being fertilized; or prevent a fertilzed egg from implantation. The side effects are HORRIBLE. You will get nauseous, and most likely throw up.
Sweetie, please stop having unprotected sex. It's not healthy. If you want someone to talk to feel free to talk to me. I don't judge, I'm not your mother, so I'm not telling you what you should or shouldn't do. I have a baby sister your age. Please contact me if you want to.

First off, you shouldn't be having sex at 15. Just, no.
Second, the pill will work, and it's not "killing the baby". The "baby" is still a zygote, and has no feelings and can't even feel anything yet.
By the way, if you keep on having sex at 15, and have a baby at 15, I hope you enjoy life on welfare.

well you shoudl have had the morning after pill(plan B) on hand already after your first accident.... maybe you shoudl get on birth contorl pills...
your doctor is right. you can only take it within the 72 hours after having unprotected sex. the longer youwait (48 hours is a while) the less effective it will be. so it may not help you much....
