At only a month you probably havn't hurt anything, but you should probably stop know that you know. Soon your center of gravity will shift and you will probably not be able to do all this very well. Maybe switch to yoga until after the baby is born?

And for the poster who said you're too young to be pregnant if you're in gymnasitcs, what planet do you live on? Look at the Olympic teams some time, most of the women on those teams are between 18 and 25.

Yes. You can overwork yourself...fall off the bars...straddle the beam...screw up a landing on floor. All of those things that I did when I was in gymnastics. And NONE of that can be good for the baby, no matter how old the child is. Sudden jolting can harm the baby, the umbilical cord could get wrapped around it's neck. Or you could miscarry.

I would say switch to yoga, walking, other stuff. If you're a member of a gym, they usually have a pregnant mom's class. =]

As long as you are fit and not overworking your body, gymnastics is a wonderful way to exercise and build muscle. It should not harm your baby at all. Be carful later on in pregnancy however, because you balance is different and would probably be wise to refrain from any of the bars, beam, vault and high acrobatic floor activities. Stick to tumbling once you start your second trimester, it will be safe up intill about then. But keep the stretching and muscle strength exercises. Gymnastics is AWSOME! I have always loved doing gymnastics...but I am now 20 weeks preg. and have refrained. :) Good Luck and Best wishes!

I would ask your doctor. If you haven't stopped your gymnastics, yet, I would say that you probably need to before too long. I don't think at one month it will hurt that much, if you are healthy, but you don't want to keep on. I know that exercising doesn't hurt anything...I continued my regular exercise routine (which included running, bending, stretching) up until it was just impossible to do anymore!! I just don't know about the flipping...I would call your doctor, he/she is the only one that can tell you for sure.

I do know that you are not supposed to do backbends while pregnant. It would be a good idea to switch to a more gentle exercise within the next four months like walking. Talk to your doctor about this, and listen to your body, you may become more tired and less limber as the pregnancy continues.

Consider how many women don't even know they are pregnant at one month and how hard many women in the world have to work, it is very unlikely that any risk is involved in the first trimester (unlike smoking and drinking and drugs, when this is the most fragile time). Check with your doctor for special limitations that apply to you.

You are way to young to be pregnant if you are still in gymnastics for starters. Information on activities can only be decided by your doctor who knows your conditions and activity level. ASK YOUR DOCTOR!!

You should talk to your doctor about it. But common sense tells me that something bad could happen. You could fall, get hit in the stomach. I wouldn't risk it.

I wouldn't do gymnastics if it was me. I'd ask my doctor. You wouldn't want to accidently fall.
