I'm in my 6th week of pregnancy and won't have my 1st ultrasound until 12 weeks to detect the heartbeat etc. Are there any signs with my body to know if the baby is alive or not right now? I know its kind of a weird question.

I don't think so.

I don't want to scare you but even a positive pregnancy test is not enough to confirm the baby is alive. I miscarried at 8 weeks last October and still tested positive for 2 weeks after. Body didn't catch up to reality very quickly!

Now pregnant again and terrified. We all just have to wait for our scans i suppose!

(Or could fake abdo pain and go to hospital for an early scan. But not every day!!)

Best of luck.

Unfortunately not really. Early miscarriage is so common that that's why most doctors won't see patients until about 8 weeks or later to try and find a heartbeat. You could buy a doppler at the store, but the heartbeat can't be detected by one until the 12th week, so it'll a waste of money right now. It's not a weird question, it's one every woman has, but unfortunately there's no way to tell.

No, not really. The one thing you need to watch is unexplained bleeding or severe cramping. You should be fine if you don't have these symptoms. The doctor can also hear the heartbeat w/ a dopler device by 10-12 weeks. Relax, and make sure you are eating healthy, drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day and not smoking, drinking, or taking drugs.

Not a weird question at all. I am going to be 10 weeks on Monday. The past few weeks, I was feeling awful (typical) But I have been feeling better the past day or so. I myself, have had the thought in my head of something not being right. It is normal to worry. The only way to be sure is talk to the doctor. Good luck.
(Unless of course, you are spotting, then get to the doctor asap)

You will normally feel queasy and nauseous. To tell if your baby is okay inside of you, pray over your belly and feel around. Sometimes you can feel the heart beat. Normally if a baby dies inside of you, it will come out when you pee. It would be like a lot of blood coming out and there would be some pain. If all is well, there is nothing to worry about. may God bless you and your unborn child.

Pregnancy tests will keep coming back positive. That means the baby is growing and your body is continuing to produce the HCG hormone.

its not a perfect system, but it might help.

A lack of bleeding is the only thing that indicates if the baby is ok. Don't worry though. There is no reason your baby shouldn't be fine.

the toddler is ingesting you alive? Oh no!!! Get it one among those suckling thingies so it stops ingesting you! you do not pick it to grow to be a cannibal. ok, i have had my relaxing. Sorry. besides, what does it truly is counted who the toddler got here from? it truly is yours. it really is what concerns. And the toddler will be raised by way of you and your boyfriend. inspite of genetics, who do you imagine the toddler is going to view as his or her actual father? honestly no longer someone he or she has never met.

Well it's alive as soon as you conceive. Even if you can't feel it the baby is still alive and growing. :)

In wal-mart you can buy one of those machines that lets you listen to the heatbeat.. I think it's so you can hear your own baby's heartbeat.. Anway.. my midwife told me it could be heard at 8 wks... I'm sure the next time you for an ob appt that you'll be able to hear...a sound you'll never forget !!!
