With bush's new plan, do you suport him or not? why or why not?

I am a military brat and I wish the war would be over so no one's loved ones had to go but I understand if we pull out there will be many mass murders.... on the other hand, over 3,000 soldiers have died for our country and about 22,000 wounded, and the war has cost about $400 billion... last I heard the economic standing of our country wasn't that great so where is this money coming from, how many generations is it going to take to repay and where is Iraq going to get $10 billion to hold up their end of the deal???
any thoughts on the subject?

I'm 100% against his "new" plan for Iraq.

didn't the Iraq Study Group tell him to start withdrawing troops from Iraq?

Yeah, they did.

Did Bush listen?

No.

Bush has no concern for the American people. He's sending our people to referee a civil war. Granted, we broke it, so we should fix it, but sending more soldiers to die isn't the way to fix it. We've let the Iraqis become dependent on us. They need to learn to survive and govern themselves on their own…THAT is when the problems in Iraq will begin to get solved. So long as we are there, some Iraqis will hate us. That is what happens when you invade someone else's country.

I can only hope the democrats show some backbone and deny his request for more troops and funding.

The war in Iraq is out of control. Maybe the thousands of troops that are going over there will make some difference, but frankly, when it's all said and done, Iraq is never going to be at peace.

Now we have Iran making threats with their nuclear program. I have no doubt that pentagon generals are already planning an invasion of Iran as I type this. We already know a carrier task force is being sent to the Persian Gulf and I I hear someone say they are planning on sending more troops to the area.

Defense Secretary Gates has stated he wants more troops to be sent to Afganistan.

Before this is all over we are going to lose thousands more in American lives and we'll spend billions more on trying to gete a situation right that we shouldn't have started in the first place.

Bush's legacy is going to be the fact that for the first time in history basically the entire country was united in disagreeing with a president and his foreign policy. We had no business going over there in the first place, (other than chasing oil) and he couldn't even get his facts straight on why we should have.
Everything he claimed for reasons to go into the "99-cent war" (referring to gas-prices) ended up being lies. Bin Laden hasn't been found either, which was supposed to be our initial reason for going there, but, bush shifted the focus to hussein, a man we had helped years earlier?
A war is never a popular thing, however, in light of the suspect nature of most of his dealings a a president (not to mention the shadiness behind how he came to be the president) I don't trust the man running down the street, much less running the country...

I think it is a little too late to actually work, but it is the only way to win. We just need to think about our chances. It seems odd to gamble with thousands of lives and more money than my hundred richest friends will see in a lifetime, but that is the duty we left on the government.

I hope that everyone will evaluate the likelihood of Bush's plan stabilizing the area, and act accordingly. If it can work, it is worth the troop and money committment (just so we don't leave the place in such bad shape--I'm embarassed). But if it can't, we shouldn't send good money and people's lives after bad.

I don't think the troop increase will help stability, and in 1-1/2 or 2 years we'll be pulling out of Iraq really big losers. But what do I, or anyone who hasn't been there or otherwise seen the situation know about it--the news shows us casualties, but not what is really going on--no one knows whether we can win from what the media tells us.

There are more effective than 2 hundred thousand US workers with thousands of a lot individuals kit in Iraq. they could't basically leap in a truck and rigidity homestead. There are also undesirable adult men over there that pick to kill our human beings and scouse borrow their stuff. Getting out of Iraq is basically now problematic and could take an excellent type of time.

Every credible expert says it's a bad idea.

So, no, I don't agree with his plan.

And it's not clear that the violence in Iraq will be worse if we leave. It's not clear it will not actually get better.

So, no, I don't agree with his plan.

And the American people as a whole voted in November for a real change in Iraq among other areas. This plan is more of the same.

So, no, I don't agree with his plan.

We should get the press out of there and untie the hands of our military. If that had been done from the beginning, the war would have been over a long time ago. Maybe alot of innocent civilians would have died, which sucks, but that has happened already. It would at least be over.
How is the military supposed to fight psychotic terrorists, when every move they make is questioned? I believe the military should get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to situations like that.

I think this plan is our last hope. If it still doesn't work, we can honestly say we tried.

I feel the worst thing is to take such a negative attitude. I would bet about 30-40% of Americans HOPE it fails so they can say I told you so. If we succeed, they lose, and that is not acceptable.

Bush is destroying our army which endangers America.

Bush is bankrupting our treasury which threatens our children.

Mosr Iraqis support attacks on our troops. They want us to leave their country, not increase troops.

Bush is EVIL and INSANE.
