It makes it where you do not take any dmg while you have rupees. I bought the armor but never had to use it in the game. It is only there for people who need the extra help.

Wearing the Magic Armor makes you invincible to damage for as long as you have rupees to sustain it. The magic armor can be useful if you use it correctly. However, it does cost a lost of rupees. The only place I saw a need to use it was when battling the ice levels of the Cave of Ordeals. Between the Freezerds, and Ice Skeletons you just get attacked so much and it is easy to die in those levels or waste fairies that you may need for the last couple of levels. By using the armor I was able to take out the large Freezerds and Skeletons without taking damage and save my life and fairies for the harder levels. Although, the reward for the Cave of Ordeals is not really worth it, in my opinion. I don't want to spoil it for you though unless you ask.

what magic armor, if you beat the game, how do i beat zant in the actual boss fight when he flies around laughing and shooting at me?
