I'd go with the worm. They are more edible, and cleaner.
Depending on the species of cockroach, most live in (or have been in) drains, building crannies, and sewers because their habitat is dark, moist, warm areas. Also, they tend to feed on decaying food which is readily available to them in the form of scraps from humans, and found in garbage disposals and dumpsters. To make a long story short, the odds are high that a cockroach is going to be carrying harmful bacteria on its body due to its environmental conditions. Even non-infesting cockroaches produce an unpleasant scent when disturbed, so at the very least you would be eating a very bad-tasting critter.
Earthworms, on the other hand, are found in soil, which is not high in harmful bacteria. In fact they are only found in quality soil. They are high in protein and lack the chemical defenses that most roaches possess. Also they have very little taste once you get past the slimy, wiggly part.
So definitely, hands down, the earthworm is your best bet.

That's really disgusting! I'd have to say a worm. I would pretend like it was a gummy worm. I couldn't even touch a cockroach, let alone put it in my mouth! Plus a worm wouldn't crunch. yuk!

A worm, I used to eat them often, they're good for you apparently, cockroaches crunch, worms don't.

If you can find a good source of Thai delicacies, there are cockroaches bred for consumption. Grill them, break off the tail and suck out the insides. Apparently they are quite tasty!
