for the lastest version of Need For Speed (Carbon), this is the requird stuff:

this is the minimum system requirment. You can pay more if u wanna better one. And about the Mac, i donno, i cant recommend anything about that.

i would prefer intel dual core processor or amd athalon 62x for speed and graphics

i have intell,celeron processor 2.66GHz and it it fine and good.
u can get 3GHz or higher for more speed.
for speed also u can get 512MB RAM or 1GB or 2GB for more speed.
graphics u can get RADEON 9200 it is a good video card 256MB or u can get 512MB for more good graphics.

A Mac G5 is quicker for graphics.
PCs are cheaper.
Which are you familiar with?
Which do you already have software for?
Those are the big questions.
