Love men in hats, any kind of hat lol!. No I do not think you are being conceited at all. A fitted hat looks way better!
Hats do not look good of the rack until they are worn for a long while to fit. So why not get one fitted first...

Your not conceited for wanting to wear fitted hats, your fashion mind set, is set on the right level, we need more like you around. It look sloppy to wear big oh hats, and they make your head look small.

I think you are being smart. My head is kind of large so I can't wear most hats - a fitted one might solve that problem.
