a.g.p id the accelerated graphics port that can be found next to your pci slots and behind your memory banks
normally they are either brown or orange but they can be red, white
they come in different types the latest being 8x speed, but they also have speeds of x4,x2,x1
agp was a advancement from the old pci-bus slot that we used to use for graphic cards, and sometimes still do,but agp replaced this in around 1998 with the agp x1 interface that had a higher bandwidth than pci-bus,making games run quicker
agp soon increased to x2,x4,then finally x8,were it stays to today
allthough agp was replaced by pci-express(which is x16 bandwidth) agp still has a role in p.c graphics, some gamers still use a agp slot as it would work out very expensive to replace their motherboard and agp cards are still being manufactured by firms such as pny,sapphire,club3d,inno3d so the agp interface will be around for a good few years
one downside with agp,you cant double them up like pci-express to enable faster graphics suchg as in s.l.i(scalable link interface) and crossfire(ati)
i hope that explained agp cards for you
good luck

Accelerated Graphics Port. It is located on the motherboard and is usually shorter than the other slots that you can install cards into. You will likely have only one AGP slot and it will be about 3 1/2" long. An AGP is a slot that accepts an AGP graphics card.

The AGP (Advanced Graphics Port) slot is the standard slot that you put graphics cards into. It is basically a big long plug on your motherboard that you slide the card into.
It is not too hard to find, as it should be the only plug on the motherboard that your graphics card will fit into.

There are AGP and PCI graphics cards. You need the correct slot agp, or PCI available in your PC, or the card won't fit.
