i need a charger for a samsung x11 laptop, but dont wanna spend 60 quid

You can get 'universal' ones from maplin electronics for about 15-20 quid ... just set the voltage & polarity and pick the right plug and it should work.

Alternatively, buy a universal or dedicated Samsung one from Hong Kong on ebay... costs about the same including delivery and you'll *probably* avoid import duty.

I bought a 4amp toshiba one and it cost about 18 quid and took about a week.

I got a genuine brand new Compaq charger for my laptop off Ebay and it was delivered next day about half that price

Be very careful it matches the wattage required by your machine - in other words, exactly the same output spec as the genuine article. Some "universal" chargers cause problems with this.
