My mom takes a Nexium everday because she will get heartburn if she doesn't. Nexium's are suppose to heal any damage caused by heartburn too. She takes this prescription because over the counter heartburn medicine want work. So if your husband has tried all the over the counter medicines, then try Nexium. Since he gets heartburn everyday, I am going to say he has Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. He can also avoid foods that cause heartburn, which are Orange juice, Lemon, Lemonade, Grapefruit juice, Cranberry juice, Tomato, Mashed potatoes, French fries, Onion, raw Ground beef, chuck, Marbled sirloin, Chicken nuggets, Buffalo wings Sour cream, Milk shake, Ice cream, Cottage cheese, regular, Macaroni and cheese, Spaghetti with sauce Liquor, Wine, Coffee, decaffeinated or regular, Tea, decaffeinated or regular Salad dressing, creamy, Salad dressing, oil & vinegar Butter cookie, high-fat, Brownie, Chocolate, Doughnut, Corn chips, and Potato chips, regular. Hope this helps.

I use Zantac. It works in about half an hour and lasts most of the day. But if this Heartburn is an every day thing...you might want to mention it to a doctor. Heartburn at night when trying to sleep...try sleeping on your left side. But again...if it's an every day thing, get to the doctor.

I get heartburn all the time and the best thing that has ever worked for me was the Atkins diet. There's something in the book that explains why your heartburn goes away when you're on the diet.

Eat tums.
Stop eating foods that cause it.
Go to the doctor for perscription meds. It could be acid reflux disease if it occurs on such a consistent basis.

Raw organix apple cider vinegar before meals can help. You can get it in the organic food section of many grocery stores. You take 2 teaspoons and mix it in water or some other drink (I use ice tea) and take it before dinner.
