I need to write a piece for my school magazine, so what kind of topic should I write about so that people won't doze off while reading it ?

Write a "gossip" column about your high school. Use initials instead of names and freshman, sophomore, etc. to help people guess who you're talking about. Keep it nice and clean, though. Like, who's dating who.
We did it in our newsletter when I was in school and it was the first thing everyone turned to. It's fun to see your "name" in print! I still have all of the old copies!

Well if it's for highschoolers you could use the article to argue against the negative steretypes people give teens.
