Don't you find the following statement absurd:

"He says he's threatened by her? He's a star athlete. She's 5-foot-2, I think, and 105 pounds," said celebrity New York divorce lawyer Raoul Felder, one of the attorneys representing Joumana Kidd.

If what he is claiming is true, it is disgusting that we still have this idea that women are not capable of terrorizing their husbands in the same way that men can terrorize their wives. Just because a man is bigger doesn't mean his wife cannot be abusive. Some men are just not violent, believe it or not, and are afraid to do anything because she will likely not be arrested or charged.

Here is an interesting survey - more than 60% of women say it's OK to hit your husband, and more than 35% have done so.

Bagpuss what are you saying? I am sorry that you were abused and I will not justify anyone abusing anybody. I am just saying isn't is unfair that we cut abusive women a break and bring the hammer down so hard on abusive men?

This is a horrible double standard. Some women hit their men because the man can not retaliate. The perception is that If your wife hits you then you are less of a man. It is a problem that goes unreported because men are embarassed to say they have been victims. Nobody has the right to hit another person it does not matter that he is bigger than her.

As I suffered domestic violence at the hands of my ex hubby I can honestly say what you are saying is a crock of crap. He used the excuse he wouldn't let go of me when he was beating the living crap out of me in case I hit him back. That is just an excuse to make someone think the violence is their fault. "I thought you were going to hit me so I strangled you until you passed out". I am not a small woman but he was twice my size and twice my weight are you honestly trying to tell me that he was afraid I might hurt him or wanted me to think him the victim so he could carry on his cycle of abuse?

It messed my head up for a long time thinking it was my fault he hit me but now I know he is a sorry son of a ***** with a foul temper and a drink problem.

Yeah I agree that women can be abusive towards men. I don't know why men and women abuse eachother in relationships instead of just going their separate ways. It makes no sense.

actual i do not locate it absurd, relatives violence perpetrated through females is more desirable ordinary that maximum believe, that's less than stated and under no circumstances stated through shame it brings to the victims. i hit upon the double usual genuinely disgusting, our judicial device basically perpetuates it. they might as well basically say that's o.k. to rape, hit, and molest...see you later as you're a lady. seem on the Debra Lafave case, she molested somewhat boy and did not even might want to do time! The judicial device in this united states of america is a comic book tale, it basically makes me ill.
