aways be polite, always say hello, always use good manners, always listen,......and so on, But...when it comes to anyone saying anything or anyones kid being nasty to my children... I tell you what, i kick *** BIG TIME....(that way people can have a gossip and always stay on your side...as a reference if you need one)...ps...i tend to ignore peoples bad attitude towards me cos i can't have a verbal argument so i tend to not retaliate just talk calmly and hope for the best

Mostly I stand up for myself, but there is a fine line you can't cross, bc sometimes you gotta let em walk a little bit on you. There's a balance there you have to find.Noone likes someone too weak or too strong, kno what I mean?

Sometimes in life you have to allow the possibility that people can walk all over you. (for example when you are dead and burried in a grave) In such circumstances, you cannot stand up for yourself.

The question of letting, or standing up for oneself is one of whether one can or cannot. If you are a doormat or a carpet, then people will walk over you if you let them in your house or if you have a welcome mat. However, that is what a carpet or a welcome mat is for. That is its purpose.

If your purpose in life is not to be a doormat which welcomes allcomers, or a carpet which invited people walk all over, then you need to define your purpose.

You do not need to stand up for yourself if you protect yourself. By protecting yourself, you remain strong for the fight which will come and when you have to stand up against people who get past your barriers.

I turn the other cheek, smile and ignore, until they get on their knees and beg for some $hit, then I give them more (verbally) than they can possibly handle. Usually, calmly, quietly and cut right to the bone. A few have had to go into the hospitol for a little psychiatric rehabilitation. People should be nice, ya know?
