I doubt that he's coming here to make soccer big in the US. I think he's coming here more for the LA lifestyle than a career uplifting. Like one guy said above, his wife's TV career also is also a factor.
Honestly, I'm not a big soccer fan but I think it's a great move for them. And it won't be so bad cause LA does not have a football (American) team, so maybe he has a chance of popularizing the sport in California.

It's a pension deal. Pele, Beckenbauer and Cruyff set the trend in the 70's. He'll go over there and try to sell some merchandise and enjoy strolling round the park pinging 50-yard balls while the rest of the team does the running around for him. I reckon it means the end of his international career though.

LA galaxy were stupid enough to offer a half retired player/actor/model/whatever a 250 million $ offer......i think that's just sad and a bad example for young footballers who really try hard on the pitch instead of depending on their looks....

Hes going to join L.A. Galaxy in August, signed a 5yr deal. The US is the only place he isn't really famous and as there is a big market out there, he wants to change that. His wife will be happy too as she will become famous. He has signed a massive pay deal too.
