What kind of stone do I have on my ring?

It is a dark grey almost black stone, round and very smooth on top. When the light shines into the stone, it looks like a star in the middle reflecting. Any ideas?

Star sapphires also come in black. That's probably what it is.

I'd have to go with the star sapphire, probably lab created. (they're pretty uncommon in nature.)
