My friend’s girlfriend has a Renault Clio and the fault light keeps appearing on the dash board sporadically, there is an issue that limits the revs. She has taken it into the garage and they say that she needs a new motorised fossil body. This will cost 500.00 to fix including labour. Any ideas, I have never heard of this part before.

Either she's got it all wrong on the terminology (most likely) or someone is having her on. There's no such thing as a "motorised fossil body". It might be a motorised "throttle" body but it's definitely not a "fossil" body.

You might check a breaker's yard. Fitting should be relatively straightforward; this is one case where the part is considerably more dear that tne labour to fit it.

I have heard of a motorized throttle body. That would help with the problem, I would think, if you had it replaced.
