Why is it that if you disagree with the WAY the war is being run, you are characterized as a namby-pamby liberal who wants to appease the enemy?

Is there no middle ground? Is it that hard to comprehend that there might be more than two options? Capitulate or fight aimless and brainlessly are not the two choices here. Can someone explain this to the idiot conservatives on this site?

Everything has to be one extreme or the other. If you aren't for aimlessly "staying the course" without critically looking at the strategy and reason for the war at all, then you are for "cut and run"

WTF?

I agree not all conservatives are idiots.

Conservatives who insist on perpetuating this false dichotomy however, are idiots.

Unfortunately by today's standards there is no room for the conscious objector.

Outside of America the majority of the world are. Does that mean that everybody is a namby pamby liberal? The war in Iraq has a strikingly low international approval rating. I am unsure as to how some are completely unaware of that.

We have been trained to think to one extreme or the other. There is not room for moderate values, or ideas. We are socially forced into a love it or hate it ideology. We are categorized into two groups, liberals and conservatives.

It is a brilliant ploy to be honest, as we keep bickering amongst ourselves and name calling we lose power, we lose liberty, we lose rights.

When we can stop focusing on our own differences then and only then we can start focusing on those representing us and ensure they are working for our best interest, for now and for the future of the nation.

Look. I've made this point a thousand times here. Bush and his supporters are Social Conservatives, not Fiscal Conservatives which are the conservatives we normally think of when the word is used.
Social Conservatives are extremely religious and believe the government should control morality in this country. Religious people firmly believe the tenets of their faith without question. Let me repeat. Religious people believe the tenets of their faith without question.
Does that point sink in?
Faith requires a belief without proof or justification. Whenever you question a Social Conservative you are jumped on as if you are the devil himself.
Mixing religion and politics is dangerous. The country cannot be ruled by blind faith. The result is what you see now, particularly in Iraq. Bush believes God is no his side, so right will win. There is no need for a plan, because God will fix everything.

Sure the is always a middle ground.
I take it you are talking about the US.
The style of government and policy that Americans put up with without rebelling has always amazed me.

To get elected is a matter of marketing - convincing the population that you are the best for the job.....and the marketing is expensive. If you follow the campaigns through to their conclusion you will notice that in many if not most cases the people that spent the most regardless of their message get voted in. Americans as a group have given up critical thinking.
They vote based on advertising campaigns not substance. The money spent by the candidates is obscene. With one of the worst public educations systems in the western world and a health care system that although good is only for the rich to take full availability of I can think of much better ways to spend that money. Americans will eventually learn the hard lesson of 'substance and performance' and start electing those who have the right message and actually follow through with their campaign promises.

The Internet is helping with this but it will take time.

Americans have given up their rights to a good government to big business interests and that has to change and soon. You can not afford to continue to borrow money from countries and continue to have a good economy ----you have to pay that off------ example is the amount the US borrowed from China to pay for the Iraq war and tax credits and breaks to the very wealthy and big oil. It will take generations of tax dollars to pay off just that loan and there are many others. You go from one of the lowest taxed peoples to one of the highest if this continues or the country will be bankrupt.

Sure, think of war and diplomacy residing on the same continuum, Criminal Bush happens to be far on the war side opting to attack with brutal force rather than engage in dialogue, hence the sad state of national and global affairs. The right-wing LOVES to characterize, blame, and chastise those who disagree with them. They even have their own propaganda machine working 24/7 (FoxNews). Remain steadfast in your beliefs as Bush's reign of terror will soon come to an end.

I know what you're saying. Conservatives are so hopelessly brainwashed by their leaders that if you have a point of view different from what they've been "taught" then you're a traitor, unAmerican, terrorist loving and a host of other things. The hell of it is, it's impossible to reason with these poor souls. Go figure!

actual, what takes position is that the antichrist arises and at the same time as he makes a peace treaty with Israel, even the country will commence to say peace peace. This peace treaty will contain allowing Israel to rebuild the temple and at the same time as the antichrist sees that the temple worship might want to erode his administration he acquires the pretend prophet and after he breaks his peace treaty and captures Israel, he and the pretend prophet set up an idol in Jerusalem and at the same time as the individuals see the Satanic indications they commence their own faith. regardless of the indisputable fact that, at the same time as the antichrist breaks the peace treaty with Israel, wars smash out and on the time the antichrist and the pretend prophet are collecting the countries to Har-magedon, they confirm to and do militarily defeat the country. it really is today that Jesus returns and throws the antichrist and the pretend prophet interior the lake of fireplace and starts reigning from Jerusalem for a one thousand years.

I know - it's so stupid. I get tired of hearing "you love the enemy! you hate America!" Really get over it.

At the same time, though, not all conservatives are idiots.
