While pregnant, your skin is stretching to accomodate your growing baby and any other weight gain, and your fluid needs are increasing, so its harder to stay hydrated. most of the time the itching is around the abdomen during the second and third trimesters, but if the itching is unbearable, you may be suffering from puppp. puppp is a pregnancy realated condition (its short for pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy. to ease the itch make sure you use lots of moisturizer, drink plenty of water, and avoid hot or frequent baths for long periods of time. if you are still itching really badly after all this then you should talk to your doctor.
also... try not to scratch your stomach so much bc it will cause your stretch marks to become deeper and darker after you have the baby.

If your skin is starting to stretch it could get itchy.
But also during pregnacy your skin can become more sensitive so maybe you're having a slight reaction to your lotion, or laundry soap, or fabric softener.
I'd say if you are using a cream, stop for a day and see if it helps. If not, make sure you're using a mild but hydrating skin cream all over you belly. Try switching to perfume-free fabric softeners and soaps, they may be what's irritating you.
And always always keep yourself well hydrated. Drinking lots of water is not only essential to your health and your baby's health, but it will help keep your skin hydrated and cut down on the itching (and maybe on the stretch marks too!)
Good luck!

I get that alot, i'm 14 weeks, it's the skin stretching around your belly. That's all. I put alot of lotion on and coco butter. It's annoying but part of pregnancy.

Your skin is stretching to cover your burgeoning belly. It's totally normal and will stop in a few days or so.

Just lotion it up and try not to scratch.

As your body is changing, it is probably dry skin. Try some medicated talcum powder, and see if this lessens the itching.

It's cuz your skin is stretching, I would think. It's totally normal, but annoying, isn't it? Just know that you are not alone! It happens to every pregnant woman...
