I'm looking at enrolling in an MBA program and am wondering how many credits I can reasonably expect to take per semester while working full-time. I don't have any kids. Just my fiancé and a cat.

I worked full time and did 9/12 credits and graduated with a 3.8- i live with my boyfriend and a cat too- but i also had an easier job that allows me to work on assignments while at work. if you don't have the ability to do school work at work you need to really pay attention to the difficulty of the classes you take on- try to pair a difficult one with an easier one- schedual out your entire year/ program like that and you'll be better off for it- honestly- i think its smart to take it slow- get good grades and get involved in anyway you can- who cares if it takes an extra year to get your degree if you can get a job/internship in your field of choice- grad school is all about the connections/networking you can do- take your time and focus on being the smart guy who knows alot of people, and get a lot of experience-
an internship/ TA postition/ job where you're applying what your studying is worth soooo much when you're finally on the job hunt with your new degree...
good luck!

ditto on the summer classes for quick easier units although usually alittle more costly. But as to how many units you should take... common... thats kinda subjective. I have seen people with 18 units and up working fulltime with kids and get perfect grades. and I have also seen 6 units and less with no responsibilities repeat those 6 units or less more than 3 years in a row (I can neither confirm nor deny guilt on the last example) LEARN HOW TO RESEARCH for gods sake though and use searchlores.org as your stepping stone! The things I have done in a library... besides world domination...

I did my MBA while working full-time. I agree you can take 6 credits or two classes per term. You can also take classes in the summer to finish faster.

The prefect will be 6 credits. But it all depends on your ability to manage your time between work and study. Plus, you dont have family to worry about, than try to go 6. However if you are good enough, you can go higher.

Good Luck...

You could try six credits or less.
