1. Square miles are determined by multiplying two dimensions, such as width times length. In the case of land mass, you can see how the solution for length would vary, depending on whatever width was.
2. Now, as for the dimensions of Canada, as you can see by clicking on this link, it is approximately 3600 km wide at its widest and 3600 km long at its longest. To determine land mass requires some other way than just multiplying longest by widest dimensions, though. That's because there's irregular shapes of land and spaces. That's why acres are used. 3. You should not be learning miles instead of kilometers anymore. Let your school know that.

A square mile is a measure of area, not distance. A "square mile" represents a square, one mile long on each side. A cubic mile would be a measure of volume, just add a mile of height to your square.

One square mile is equal to 1 mile multiplied by 1 mile (1 x 1) and that equals to 1 to the power 2.

sqaure mile is one mile on all four sides of the imaginary square so... 5,280 x's 4 is 21,120 feet. I think that should be your answer
