Make sure something flat is under it, like a large book. Otherwise you'll block the fan vents and your laptop could overheat. That not only damages your processor but it slows your performance down as well.

If you're asking if it's ok to leave your laptop ON all the time, the answer is Yes, it will do no harm.

However, if you leave your laptop powered on and laying on a soft surface you CAN do harm to it as the fans will be covered and the unit may heat up. Always place the laptop on a hard surface so that air can get to the vents and fans to keep the unit properly cooled.

If you mean "Is it bad to leave my laptop powered on whilst on my bed all the time" then the answer is yes. Most notebooks need to be able to shed its heat from the bottom of the notebook and if it is set on a soft surface it won't be able to do this effectively. Also, coupled with the recent fact that many laptop batteries are overheating and even catching fire, placing a laptop on any flammable surface is not smart.

You can leave the laptop anywhere you'd like. As long as the fan vents on the side are open to air, then your laptop won't overheat and everything will be okay.

are you sleeping with your laptop? If you are tlking about the fan vents and the comforter of your bed not liking each other, your right, the laptop will get overheated because the fan can't get the hot air out if its blocked....try breathing while having your blanket wrapped around your head and you'll understand.

That, doesn't really sound like a good idea. Because of a Laptop's compact design you really have to be careful about how hot the bottom gets. I'd be weary of your hard drive or RAM getting to hot and damaging your sheets. (Not Necessarily Catching Fire)
