I know this is a hard pill to swallow, but it is actually more environmentally harmful to recycle paper than it is to just make new. Go out and rent a copy of "Penn and tellers: bullshit" season 2 disc 2 and watch the episode on recycling. I didn't believe it either until I watched the episode. It's very well researched.

do what i do to help save the planet. if the paper is good quality and in good condition, open it safely and reuse next year, not being tight but doing my bit 4 the planet. another thing, instead of buying notepads to write down reminders etc, use old letters, cut them into as many equal sizes as u want, turn blank side up then staple together, u have ur own homemade note/memo pad, cost zero.

whilst somebody provides me a Christmas modern-day, i do no longer open it. I purely go away it interior the wrapper for the full 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, then provide it back to them next Christmas. each and every couple of years, i alter the call tag too.

I'm pretty sure here in Cumbria you can but I wouldn't put it in my compost bin as it doesn't feel as though it would break down easily.
