Star Trek, the groundbreaker. The various spin-offs and sequels were still great stuff up until the "Enterprise" atrocity - Scott Bacula, yeesh.

The original Star Wars movies were great, but the 2nd series (Episodes 1-3) were horrible by comparison

As far as science fiction goes, I think Star TREK is the more realistic of the two.

Neither, The Honor Harrington Series by David Weber beats them both with no problem.
