The air is drier at night. The more moisture in the air there is, then things are less likely to squeek and creak.

Oh they do creak during the day. It's just that there's so much other noise nonone can hear them talking

coz it's quieter at night so you notice it more. our cupboards that creaked at night, still creaked in the morning :)

They do, there is just more background noise during the day to drown out the sound.

I don't know but my walls, doors and TVs join in with the cabinets and make a chorus...scary.
