Of course we are. They control everything from our emotions to our sex drive.

I'm a slave and proud of it!

"I know what it is like to be young, but you don't know what it is like to be old." Don't know where that came from origionally, but i heard a Orson Wells recite it on an album. I think of it a lot nowadays. I am 64 and can only add to affirmative answers with one other thought. Isn't that why religions and laws came to exist? Something to control the wild and unbridled wildness in most of us? Hormones totally rule in the jungle or down i the sea. Had some wild old times when i was younger. Cost too much all things considered. Maybe not. Maybe there is no alternative. At least i didn't killed or go to prison but so many do. So many end up living hellish lives due to excessive hormones affecting their poor minds. Only strong, intelligent parents can guide their children in for a safe landing. It is a jungle out their. From toddlers on through teenage, humans need much help to avoid diaster due to hormones, another drug problem..

On certain levels absolutely! There are some hormonal fluctuations that yes we can reign in. (Sexual impulses can be controlled.)
However, other items such as facial hair growth, we are genetically chained/captive by whatever our hormonal heredity is.

God made everything sexual. He wanted us to please him and others but we gave into temptation. Now what was suppose to be natural is now unnatural and a slave is what we are. Yes, we are slaves to our hormones but some of us are strong and some of us are weak. I am somewhere in between how about you?

I used to think that until I have up caffeine. Turns out, teenage hormones aren't the slightest bit of an annoyance.

Hormones do " drive " us . . . and can 'overcome' us if we're not strong with the responsibility of our bodies.

I'm not a slave to my hormones . . . have taught myself to recognize those boundaries I don't want to cross during inopportune times. Now in harmony with my hormones. Challenging sometimes? Oh yea ! Yet my love for self and my value keeps me strong.

No, not really...we are born with "Free will" therefore hormones are merely something that we must struggle with to overcome. Self discipline has many obstacles, hormones being one of them.
