Has anyone else seen or heard of the news item that Germany is having a seperate oil pipe line running from Rusia straight into Germany.??
I am not sure if this is true as Germany is a part of the EU and we are all looking out for each other.
..are we not..???

Indeed there is a gas- and not an oil-pipeline planned that goes from Russia through the Baltic Sea straight to Germany bypassing the Baltic states, Belarus and Poland, where the existing gas-pipelines go through.
The company that is responsible for the construction made the news when they managed to get former German chancellor Schröder as board member.
The advantage for Germany would be, that it will be unaffected, if Russia has issues with Belarus like it had over the last weeks, when Belarus shut some pipelines into Western Europe.
The advantage for Russia would be that it could cut down the energy supplies to its neighbors as a show of power without getting Germany upset, which is a big reliable customer for Russian gas and oil.
For that same reason the new EU members Poland and the Baltic states are not that happy about the pipeline.

I've not heard of it, but chance's are there probably is some truth in it, as for us all looking out for each other what have the French been doing since the e u was formed ?
I think the rest of the e u must love Britain, they take from us and we let them, (well the government) Spain has had a big hand out from us along with most other European countries, and if they haven't been given money by us, then they have all come here and robbed us blind by taking advantage of our free housing hospitals and schooling, and that not to mention our social service's unemployment benefits tax credits. think that's enough to be going on with, sorry what was your question ?

Russia has oil. Germany wants it. They form a trade agreement.
