Get a large (thick) rope at the hardware store and tie it about a foot off the ground between two trees. You have to use the right type of knot because you want the rope to be very taught. Start walking on it, it's fun and you will get better quickly. When you have gained confidence you can raise it little by little.

If you believe you have good balance, the next stop is to develop your speed, strenght and coordination. For speed and coordination you can work with the pads, somebody (who knows what they are doing) holds them for you and changes position. For strenght try kicking the heavy bag (not a 60lb bag mind you) but one that's close to 200lbs, also you can work with somebody holding a big pad. Of course you can practice all 3 aspects at the same time plus the practical use through sparring, but make sure you enphasize on technique, and not mere brawling.

Try some type of yoga or something along those lines. And stick with martial arts, because that's the best way I've found so far..
