I have used Garmin GPS in Thailand for a couple of months already and it works great even in Bangkok.
I have a plan to travel to New Zealand in a next few months. If I buy the Garmin City mapSorce, I am not sure that I can resell it on eBay or not ? Does anyone have an idea about this?
Or should I rent a car with GPS in New Zealand instead of buying the MapSource?

the only maps for NewZealand is City Navigator which is a locked program. Technically, you can unlock 2 units with the program, so if you use to unlock 1, you would need to explain to the new buyer that the product will be registered to you and they could use the 2nd unlock option for 1 unit.
Probably not a good idea to try
