The number one answer has got to be fruitcake. I don't think I've ever witnessed someone receiving a fruitcake as a Christmas present (I've heard there are only 5 fruitcakes in existence and they just keep getting passed around).
I'd have to say the that the worst gift people get for Christmas would be the gift someone gets stuck with at Secret Santa or Yankee Swap parties. I've seen some real doozies there.
Or, plastic cheap stuff from some discount retailer liquidator like Building 19

Years and years ago, I worked for a company that had the usual Christmas party before Christmas break. One of our Managers had just had a toupee fitted. We had Chris Crindle that year and the person who got him to buy a present decided to buy carpet cleaner. Well, we all had a chuckle and of course the person was never revealed. The manager blushed and swallowed his pride.
I think it may have been the time when Ashley and Martin had just started and there toupees where not up to standard as they are now.
