I gave my wife a Nintendo DS Lite for Christmas and now she is frustrated because she cannot save her Mario Bros. game. Can someone help us out?

which mario game is it? different games have different ways of saving. even if they are all named mario
regardless of any of that, you need to save it in the game, if it can be saved at all - some games can't be saved
super mario world would allow you to save after beating bonus stages, fortresses, castles, and ghost houses
mario: partners in time allows you to save when you hit special blocks
mario 64 allows you to save when you push select or something

I am not sure about Mario Bros but the only 2 games i have for my Ds have a save button located on the main menu/paused menu or automatically save itself. Just check the manual that came with the game and it should explain it for sure in there.

You can only save your game when you unlock a bonus level or beat a fortress or castle.
