Is anyone going to watch colin and justin channel 5 8pm tonight on :the estate? The reason iam asking is, well i used to live there and moved 6 months ago while they were filming and they have spoke to the wosrt people they could find, went to the worst parts in the estate where it is a hell hole: my point is not everyone who lives there lives like these tramps featured..just bear that in mind there are still decent folk living in arden!

To Craig...Iam not slaaging people for being poor or living in appaling conditions i totally sympathise with them...no-one should have to live like that.Iam talking about the people who show themselves up and the ones who dont teach their kids any manners or respect..so before you come on here and totally get the wrong idea of what iam saying maybe you realise what iam saying is true! i lived in arden for 26 years so i do know what iam talking about.it is a dump but there is also a lot of decent peolpe stay there like i stated earlier!!

Hi Lorraine
I think we all know they are doing it for the ratings, I must admit, when I saw the trailer I thought OMG fancy living there - If I hear anyone mention the program, I will say that as a former resident you said they'd picked the worse area, people etc.
Do you like where you are now?

I have lived in Arden for 44 years, born & bred and yes I will be watching ALL 4 episodes. I am actively involved in the filming and appear regularly on the show. If your definition of a tramp is someone who is not financially solvent, then I am one of them tramps. I care very much about Arden, its people and its future. There are a large number of residents involved in the making of the documentary. In fact the first episode shows a young lady who lives in damp and sub standard conditions with her two young kids, one of which has a severe medical condition. Everyone has the right to fight for a decent standard of living, maybe you should watch the programme lorrainne before you slate EVERYONE for trying to improve, sometimes, intolerable conditions.

When I watch 'reality' shows, things like 'Honey we're killing the kids' or 'Supernanny' all the families seem to be lazy oiks who eat baked beans out of the tin. But I can't believe that most people are like that, or there would be no inventions, no art, no books written. It doesn't bear any relation to the Britain I know. So depressing. So don't worry, I think we all realise it's a snapshot of the worst.
But look on the bright side, you can have a good laugh at your ex-neighbours.

I live in elephant and castle...everyone thinks its a dump..cos of preconceptions...but where I live is fantastic...little georgian houses..a quiet street...close to everything and in zone one...with tiny rent! Let people think what they want about where you have or do live...you are the only one who needs to know the truth...
