i've been twirling now for 10 years and i love it! to get the baton to spin very fast, its all in the wrist! you have to have a very strong wrist and practice is key. the more you practice, the better you will get! the best wrist twirls to use are figure 8's (getting the baton to go in a 8 shape) and flat twirls (using your wrist to move the baton flat) its all in the wrist! hope i helped.. good luck! :)

Practice...try calling a fire dept social hall and ask their majorette instructor for the marching band /guidance counselor who may relay the message to majorette instructor
