Does anybody know how to remove dye from a watch strap?

it's rubbed off from my clothes onto a white strap. Can it be removed

Not if it is leather. Leather is very absorbant.

What kind of dye? I'd try two methods. First try soaking it in salt water. I've gotten blood and wine stains out of white sheets this way. If it is a really tough stain, try soaking it in hairspray. A lot of hairspray. It is the easiest way to get rid of ink stains.

Try lysol basin, tub and tile Foam cleaner. It usally work to take ink off anything.
