I heard somewhere that first there's a honeymoon period, then like a bad period, then you get accustomed, then you get hitched... or something like this. Can anyone give me their take on it or explain the trends? Thanks!

Trend is only important if you want to become part of the stats.

You have the power to create whatever type of relationship that you want! For every person, a relationship is different-no two relationship are exactly alike-find your own niche and live it...

I do know that they say the first two years are the honeymoon period and after that romance is "dead"... which basically just means that you are no longer staying together because of the attraction and gushy love stuff, there's a deeper reason that isn't based on romantic love as much as it is based on the deeper kind.

I can see how the end of romance or whatever could be seen as a bad period.. I'm sure that is a major hurdle because it is a transition and every transition is hard.

In the end, I think if a relationship is going to work, there are reasons you stay together beyond anything superficial that most likely you can't put into exact words.

Good luck :)

I really kind of agree with what you said. At first, the couple is on best behavior becasue they want to impress. After that, I think they get comforatable and the "new" wears off, so that is the accustomed, then there is wither a bad period or marriage. It depends on the couple. I think if you go through the comforatable stage and still get along then marriage is a good option.

All relationships forged with love tend to exhibit the honeymoon period to start, and then can go anywhere from there. Mine have all started roughly the same and gone in very different directions quickly.

1st - good then went terrible really quickly due to her being a psychotic wench
2nd - intensely boring
3rd - fiancee ;-)
