Talking about each other behind their backs, genuine acts of kindness and sharing, no confrontations, repressed sexual desire, competition in looks and possession...are any of these traits characteristics of female relationships and what is the most important thing I have missed out?

All of those are characteristic of female relationships. You have left out empathy though. Women tend to automatically empathise with each other/others generally. Where a man will say 'you'll get over it mate', a woman will say 'ohhhhh, that's so awful - poor you'. And if only we didn't then go and talk about it behind the persons back ............ it really would make us the perfect friend! Heyho.

Some people seem to have forgotten their manners, whatever happened to general pleasantries and common courtesy?

Regardless of whether you like the person or not, its just being civil!

I think we live in an age where people just don't care who they stomp on!

I See everyone doing whatever they feel like, man or woman. It's general nastiness all around.
