People on blood thinners (aspirin, motirn, Plavix, Coumadin) can get blood vessels bursts from just rubbing the eye or sneezing. People with uncontrolled blood pressure can also get this. tell them to see their doctor.

Ruptured vessels in the eye can be caused by many things : excessive alcohol or illegal drugs, some prescription meds, strain (like women who push during birth), diabetes, eye infection, uncontrolled blood pressure, clotting problems, optical pressure from fluids behind the eye, and certain diseases (like cancer). Hope a doctor looked at that!!

I had this and have lost nearly all the vision in that eye. The Dr. told me it could of been from anything from sneezing too hard to straining for a BM or to pick up something heavy. The important thing is to get it taken care of right away!!
