6^2-5(6)+3=36-30+3=9

6-4(-5)=6+20=26

x^2 means x times x, so if x = 6, then x^2 is 6 times 6 or 36.

The first one is supposed to be x squared the way you have it shown which would be 36-30+3 =9

The second ones right
