Somewhere in the UK, he apparently was supposed to have flown from Bovingdon Airfield near Hemel Hempstead and had played the night or the night before in the UK. It appears that he could also have been "bombed" by friendly aircraft in trouble jettisoning their bombs somewhere over the English Channel between Le Havre and Cherebourg en route to play in Paris.
Much of this was gleaned from locals and sources long forgotten so if it is not exact then I am sorry.

I do not know for certain where in England Miller played his final live performance. His final recordings were made in a V-Disc session at Abbey Road Studios, London, in Novermber 1944.

RAF Kings Cliffe west of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England

It was a joint RAF/USAF base. There is a (now vandalised) memorial to him there.
