I was injured on the job. I work for a small company and the owner is a nutjob. She would just soon fire somebody who file's workers comp. I injured my neck really bad, however I work every day. I do however take off maybe once every two weeks to visit a doctor. I have always been a salaried employee. She just changed me to hourly and will be docking my pay while visiting the doctor. I am so irritated... I hurt so bad every day when I leave. I'm not too sure what to do. The people I work for are not familiar with the laws and employee's rights. Can they lower my pay while on worker's comp? Can they deduct for my doctor's visits? Help!!!

See an attorney immediately. There are time limitations on filing claims. If you have a permanent impairment, you are entitled to a settlement. Even as the case is progressing, you are entitled to medical care and temporary disability payments if the dr takes you off work. Please see an attorney and at least find out what the statutory limits are in your state and what compensation you are entitled to. Your employers sound like very unpleasant people.

if you were injured on the job, guess what? She HAS to pay for your medical expenses! What she is doing is against the law. You need legal advice because you don't really know how much damage you have with your injury or how long the doctor visits will go on!

Yes. They have to pay. Check with your personnel/HR to review the rules and regulations regarding work-related accidents. Even better, if your department has a Risk Management office, go there instead. They have all your answers. There may or may not be a process to go thru. But they should pay for it if it was on the job.

What the others said. This gal is clearly out of line both legally and ethically. See a good lawyer and if need be take her to court.

Good luck!

Please go see a good work comp attorney. Usually the initial consultation is free and then the attorney can advise you what to do. Good luck to you!
