J.K. Rowling just released the title of the 7th Book right before Christmas. However, Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com and Borders Group Inc have all been taking "reservations" for the 7th book since the 6th came out. Generally speaking, we can expect the book to be released some time in the next 6-12 months. Ms. Rowling has stated that she is not finished with the writing yet, so we must give her time to finish the book. Then we must anticipate at least 3 months for editing and proof-reading, 3-6 months for printing the anticipated 5 million copies in at least three languages (Queen's English, American English & Spanish are usually released at the same time, other languages to follow). Then there is distribution...I would hazard a guess that the next book will be released around Christmas of 2007.

July 7 is just a rumor people started because of 7-7-07 and it being the 7th book and 7 horcruxs and all, but it can't be released then because of the conflict with the fifth movie. There isn't an exact date yet but experts at mugglenet.com have estimated that it will be released at the end of this year around October or so. But no one can know for sure because she isn't even finished writing the 7th book yet!

There is no release date yet. There can't be a release date if the book isn't finished yet. The July 7th thing is just a rumor. The Order movie comes out July 13th. I have this feeling, and I don't know how reliable it is, but my feeling is that they will set the book out on "pre-order" when the movie comes out. Just to give fans something to look forward to. Then the book will be released a little later in the year. Just my theory.

An actual release date has not been announced. 7/07/07 is a rumor. Scholastic who publishes the books in the US does not have an official release date, and neither does the UK publisher Bloomsbury.

I heard somewhere around July 7, just before the release of Order of the Phoenix in theatres
