At one time in our history, aa was needed to ensure that those who qualify could get into college. Now, I think that it is used to meet diversity quotas, but fails to attract the best and the brightest students. Race, gender, religion, etc. shouldn't play into the admissions process at all. The focus should be on academic records entirely. Many people cannot play sports and may not have the time and $$ needed to pad their application with costly activities.

Against it. I understand how a more diversified campus helps the learning environment. However, if you want diversity, I strongly feel it should be based on socio-economic status. Not race.

It was needed a generation ago, but that's long enough. Now it's more harmful than helpful to those it's intended to help.
