The trouble is, I'm a huge fan of scary movies and have seen all suggestions so far! Are there any new/recent releases that maybe I haven't heard of?

I haven't seen it yet, but I hear the Descent is supposed to be very scary. I liked the first Saw and the first the Ring movies. Fire in the Sky was freaky to me as a kid.

Note, to the people who said that Darkness Falls is scary: Are you all smoking crack? It's about the freakin tooth fairy. That was one of the most stupidest "scary" movies I have ever seen in my life. Boogeyman was the second stupidest.

The Ringu trilogy is truly unsettling, although the third one (Ring 0) is more of a drama with creepy moments - aside from the final scene, which gave me nightmares! Other decent Asian horrors include Ju-On, Three Extremes (three short stories, Dumplings will make you feel ill), Phone. Ichi the Killer is a great comic book horror, more gore than horror.

For Western stuff, try Descent and The Exorcism of Emily Rose for more recent stuff. You can't beat the old classics like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the Shining, etc.

I watch scary movies, Darkness falls is older but terrified me for like a month..it will say something about the tooth fairy do not let that deter you try not to read the back just get it.... There are a couple of movies named this so make sure you get the right one.

The Ring was creepy, Jeepers creepers 1&2 were decent,

Probably the scariest movie that I ever saw when I was a kid was one called "Witchboard". It's about the spirit of a little boy that has an obsession with a woman that used a Oujiu board to contanct him. There are two movies that have this title. One is a Japanese version that is entirely different. Look for the one that stars Tawny Kitane (I spelled the last name wrong).

The Descent is pretty scary! Darkness Falls was lame; it got a lot of bad reviews.

I watched one quite recently called 'a stranger calls' it keeps you guess the whole way through plus its not one of these movies that takes for ever to get started. it jumps straight in to and you are always kept in suspense and guessing all the time.

its not a very well know movie so go for it if you haven't seen it!
