A wizard is an illusionist or a magician. Warlock is a term used for a male witch, although in Wiccan, a religion based on witchcraft, both men and women may be referredto as witches.

I think the warlock is your everyday modern male witch, and a wizard has reached the level of sorcerer (-ress).

Worlock is a male initiate of witchery... usually domestic.
A Wizard is a sojourner of higher initiation... often confused with a Sorceror (which is a self-taught domestic of high degree).
