Think about transfering maybe. I loved college, I miss it. I thought it was great, got to sleep late, make your own schedule, not have classes before 10 if you don't want. ALways people around to hang out with, bars all walking distance away and people there every night of the week to hang out. If you are not happy go to a different school or maybe change rooms to meet some different people.

Now I hae to get up at 5:30 every morning. I don't get home until 6 at night. I don't have my parents paying my bills for me. College was the life! The real world is what stinks!!! Enjoy it while you can, it only gets harder.

You may not want to hear this, but you need to keep your eye on the ball. The ball is a college education, and your parents are spending a small fortune to send you to college. If you play into these people's hand, they will continue to torment you. Stop playing their game. If their actions cross the line, file a complaint. If they torment you in class, speak with the instructor during office hours about keeping the class room or lecture hall a safe place for learning. If it is in the dorm, as to be moved to another dorm or floor or dorm room.

Unfortunately, kids torment others to make themselves to fit in and to esculate their status. It isn't right, the group should do the right thing and stop it, but nobody wants to stand up to the bully. Most of these kids will grow up and learn.

Don't give up or give in. Remember, you are there to learn and grow. The best revenge is to live well and excel. Forget them and strive to obtain the best education you can for yourself.

ok so i didnt wanna kill anyone but i was in your situation a few years ago when i went to college, i got rejected by most people and its not a nice feeling at all. i think you need to get the hatred out of you, i can understand why you're angry i would be aswell at some of the people in this world. try talking to someone and letting out all your feelings, and at college just concentrate on your studies and ignore those stupid people that make fun of you they're obviously deppressed in their own lives.

Why did you come to college?
And i guess your alternative is to transfer or drop out all together? If you transfer, is there a guarantee that everyone will be different and be all chummy and smiling people?
If you drop out just because of such jerks in your classes, you are letting them win and you are surrendering to them.
At a certain point in my college life, I was also thinking of dropping out. It got so bad that I thought I understood why that guy took out his gun in columbia high! though I wasn't thinking of doing the same of course.
But I told myself I won't be such a loser. It'll be pathetic to let myself be affected and dragged down by jerks and the rumour machine.
It;s tough I know. Especially when you are used to good friends and nicer people in high school. But try to keep in mind that you need to win, that other people especially the jerks don't metter, and that you are in college to get a good degree and a good life after that, so you must fight those depressing thoughts in yourself. Don't let them win in that manner
I don't want to preach but my honest experience: Follow God, Turn your attention to his love, and your life will be so different

On a practical side, you may want to review your social skills and how you interact, and whether you should join more activities to make more friends. Friends don;t come to you like rain. You have to find them, and work to keep them. I mean I don't know your situation, but I guess reviewing oneself is always good. don't be over critical of yourself though

Sometimes, you just have to accept your situation like it is, and live it. Instead of compating to back home and all. You can survive alone, you are almost an adult now. Friends will come eventually. Treat this as a journey of independence

I wish I can be there beside you. Like I always say, it's the pain of fully growing up. But don't worry, you will live past it. You just have to stay long enough, don't let them win by letting them get to your head and heart. Remain good and untainted as you are. Work hard.

Lotsa love and good luck......

Sounds like you're having problems with the people, not the college or the classes. Try transferring (either school or classes) but otherwise, either try to put up with it or make friends. I doubt that it's everyone in the class who finds disagreement with you (unless it's a really, really small class). Anyway, good luck with that.

I hated college too. Not because of what you hate it for, but I hated getting up to go to class. I thought it was pure torture. But I just graduated in May so I never have to sit in a classroom again!!!

You have to have a real career path if you're going to college; because it does suck in many regards. There are too many liberals and too many immature kids. Not all of them, course.
