If you're making a CD from Mp3 files (on your computer..limewire, itunes, etc) then just place a blank CDR in your CD drive and open either musicmatch jukebox or windows media player. create a playlist and choose the link that says "Burn to CD." After that, just follow the prompts.
To make a CD with Mp3 files on it (to allow the CD to hold 100 or more songs...will only play on computers or in players that specifically say they will play Mp3 files) follow the same instructions as above, but make sure you go into the options menu and change file type to Mp3. Hope this helps!!

Some of the newer software will allow buring in mp3 or wav (the regular audio cd that could be played on any cd players). If not, burn the mp3 files under the data option.

Get some free software like CD Burner XP Pro.
For the rest: it's child's play.
Don't spend $60 on Nero, it's not worth it.

straight away the files to the cd if u r using windows xp, and then click burn, otherwise u can try nero ,its a nice software
