it seems that everytime "fun" questions are asked people give less than fun, and sometimes quite nasty answer, why is this?

A lot of people are very unforgiving of stupidity, so sometimes people will ask a question that is meant to be "FUN" but winds up being just "STUPID". Considering all of the stupidity we have going on in this country today, I mean look at our president, people are just a little on edge about some of it. I mean did you see that monkey on TV last night? I think he was trying to be funny also but he just wound up sounding stupid. Hope that helps.

Because those people who give nasty answers are insecure and will do anything to build their ego. They will take any advantage to rip someone apart, even if it's about a joke. I can't stand people like that so I ignore all of their posts. I pass right over them.

Because they are too stupid to realise it's a fun question. And some people are just nasty for the sake of it.

being on the receiving end, like me - it is still quite fun to realise that people get so grumpy at a fun question - l just imagine them sitting there trying to think up something nasty just for the sheer spite of it .. anyway it makes me laugh and thats all that matters ... isn't it? ;-)

Perhaps they just get irritated or don't have a sense of humor or they take the site more seriously and cant stand such questions or they cannot just see the fun in it.

It makes people feel big and clever to insult others whilst remaining anonymous in front of their computer screens. Those people will inevitably lead sad, lonely existences and should be pitied.

If the question degrades or is insensitive then some people may not find it so funny,it depends on what is being said.
