if you can use a simple voltmeter you can troubleshoot that one. remove the back. there is a heating element. test it...it should show continuity. if not, that's the problem. there are at least 3 therm-switches back there, maybe 4. unplug them and test...they also should show continuity when the dryer is off. you can get your parts at any appliance supply store. it's actually a Whirlpool. Sears is the last place to buy the part...stupidly expensive.

if you are not electrically inclined and do not want to go testing parts to see if they are bad, find out which is more expensive, T-Stat or element, buy the other, change it. Try the dryer, if it still doesn't work, change the other. Also, clean out your filter compartment. #1 reason for element burnout and Tstat failure is too much heat from too much lint.

Replace the heating element - fairly simple to do. Order it from Kenmore or stop by Sears and request assistance with ordering repair parts. It may still be under warranty.

sounds like your thermostat went out, thats the device that turns power on and off by temperature. when this goes out the heating element does not recieve power. if you could find the model number you could find it the number you put on the info did not work for correct model number.

When mine did that it was the heating element. When the guy fixed it he showed me the lint filter was full and my help wasn't cleaning it. He said clean it after every load, that's probably why the element burned up.
