well now looks like your heading into my trade i could answer all these questions for you in complete detail of definition and application but that would take way to long. my advise to you is get a woodwoking book or get on the net, look up sharpening of blades,chisels,planes ect. if you just want the definition and dont really want to know anything else about it get a dictionary. and if you want the hard way to learn about these things but the best way in the long run get a apprentship going in the trade of joiner.

With no offense, I'm curious. Apparently you have internet access; and within that context there is a "browser" somewhere on your monitor. Why not use the WWW for its best design, with those keywords, and instantly find "definitions" and BTW the examples and applications of the definitions.
