I think 9/11 had the same effect on every peace loving citizen of the world. I was watching the tv in my living room in Geelong, Australia, middle of the night, when the first plane hit. And I cried as if it had happened in my home town.
The whole world lost it's innocence that day, and I think that even the most naive, the most hopeful, and the most courageous people in the world became cynical that day. An underlying current of fear in everything we do now is the result.

its made them believe that we have never had real freedom that we have more fear in terrorism then we ever did before. After September 11 no one really wants to fly or anything else. We are always worried about another attack and yet president bush is tormenting iraq by killing Saddam and destroying their country. he is just asking for this country to be hit again by a terrorist. Then what is he going to do then. he will pay for what he did to this country and to many americans

I think it has instilled fear in American citizens. When people fear what they preceive as being a threat, that gives the government an easier way to control them. And yes, we have lost many freedoms. Freedom of 'free' speech for one. Freedom to gather and protest. Just read the Patriot Acts. Read the Northwoods papers from the 60s. Ever heard of the New World Order? If not..then research it. Keeping citizens in fear makes it much easier for that(NWO) to become a reality.
BTW...sorry some of you that I was insulting you in another question. That was not my intent. Guess I will have to be more careful as to not hit nerves.
